Hi all,

We are planning on running a couple practices during Spring Break.  We normally block out Monday and Tuesday for practice and Wednesday for a game against Southridge.
Sadly, Southridge cancelled the game so we'll just run a couple practices to keep our sticks sharp and cover some important strategies and concepts.
We intend to practice Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Thanks,
Rob Robinette

Happy Holidays,
Hope all you guys had a great Thanksgiving and are surviving finals.
Lacrosse season is rapidly approaching so here are a couple quick points of interest.
Coach Foster and I met with Colton Buchanan and T.J. Tovionen last week to discuss the 2016 Season.  Colton and T.J. will be organizing and leading all pre-season player activities.  Players should reach out to them so you can all be on the same page.
We are really excited to get out on the field with you guys and hope you are excited too!
Happy Holidays,
Rob Robinette

1/7/16

Conditioning begins Monday February 1, 2016.

Date: Every Monday through Thursday in February

Time: 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM

Location: Sherwood High School Stadium

All players intending to play lacrosse are expected to attend Team Conditioning.

Players participating in a Winter Sport for Sherwood High School are excused, but can definitely come out if they want to join us.

Team conditioning is a vital part of our club's success.  Lacrosse is known as "The fastest sport on two feet" for a reason.  Our athletes need to be able to cover "box to box", slide, clear, ride, defend, transition, etc. multiple times in short periods of time and still be strong for the fourth quarter.

We will be working on Agility, Flexibility, Core Strength, Stamina and Explosiveness.  Plus we will have some fun too.  Thursday nights are usually "game night".  We'll play various games including Philly Ball.

Last, but not least, this is a great time to get out on the field with everyone.  No sticks or lacrosse equipment is allowed.  Coaches and players work hard together and we will start to bond as a club.

Hi all,
Colton Buchanan (Captain, Senior) is going to start Pre-Season -  Speed, Agility and Conditioning training this week.
We highly recommend that you all get out there and start working with him if you are not playing Winter Sport for Sherwood High Schoool.
The stronger, faster and better shape you are in, the better season you will have.
Plan on being on the turf field at the stadium at 3:00 PM.  Have both cleats and running shoes as well as plenty of water.

Hello Bowmen Lacrosse Players and Families,
I hope you all have had a great summer and are enjoying the last bit of your 3-Day weekend!!!
The coaching staff has been working hard over the summer preparing for the 2016 Lacrosse Season.  We have a bunch of new ideas, drills, team concepts and strategies.  One of which I would like to share right now.
We are pleased to announce the naming of the first two Team Captains for the 2016 Bowmen Lacrosse Season.
Colton Buchanan
T.J. Toivonen
These two young men will help lead us into our season and set the bar regarding team expectations and culture.
We will name up to two more Captains after tryouts in March 2016 and there will be more information to come as we get closer to the beginning of our season.
Hope all you players have a great first week of school and I look forward to seeing you play in your fall sports!

02/10/15

Thank you all for coming to the Parents and Players Meeting on Monday.
A couple questions have come up regarding JV / JV2 so I'll try to help clear things up a bit.
Even though we are only going to have a Varsity and a JV team on the books, we are going to take an extra 15 players so that we can play eight JV2 Games.
The JV2 Team will play Home and Away games with Lincoln, West Linn, Liberty and Sunset.  The team will be comprised of Freshmen and Sophomores.  Transportation to away games will not be provided by SHS so we will have to figure out a carpool type arrangement for the four home games. The JV2 guys will practice with JV and Varsity.  They will also have a chance to swing to JV based on need and ability.
Lastly, registration fees do not need to be paid until you are sure you're on a team.
Please let me know if I missed any questions that you have and I will answer as quick as possible.
Thanks,
Rob Robinette

Hello Parents and Players,

I hope that you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday break and that you are all excited about the upcoming season.

Coach Stelling is the Head Coach for both Oregon State Men's Lacrosse and Xcelerate Lacrosse.  He is going to run a Pre-Season Lacrosse Camp in January at Sherwood High School.  The camp will be a three day event held on January 17th, 18th and 19th at Sherwood High School on the stadium field.  Times and Cost for the camp will be determined once we have an approximate "head count".

This camp will be a great opportunity for you all to get on the field and prepare for the 2015 Season.  Coach Stelling really knows his stuff and you will all benefit greatly by participating in this camp.  He will run multiple fast paced and fun drills as well as focusing on offense, defense, Man-Up and Man-Down concepts.

Please respond to me with a "Yes" or a "No" regarding your participation so I can give Coach Stelling a head count.  He wants to make sure he has plenty of coaches on the field for optimum results and player satisfaction.  It will also get me a number that I can use to order camp t-shirts.

Thank you,

Rob Robinette

Hi all,
Hope you are all well and getting excited for the 2015 Bowmen Lacrosse Season.  We have a lot of cool stuff in the works and the season is going to be great!  Our schedule is about 90% complete at this point.  We already have Jesuit, Beaverton, OES, Lincoln, Glencoe, Lake Oswego and Southridge scheduled.
Please make a note on your calendars that we will be practicing Monday and Tuesday of Spring Break and we will have a game at Southridge H.S. on Wednesday.
We will discuss this at the parents and players meeting we have right before the season, but I want to make sure we are all out in front of it this year. This is nothing new to Bowmen Lacrosse, but it always seems to come as a surprise to some.
Dates are March 23rd through March 25th.  Al players are expected to be there for both practices and the games.

I will compile a list of all that are interested and get back to you with all the pertinent info

Hi All,
I hope you are all having a great summer.  It has been fun seeing a lot of you out there playing for your club teams.  From what I have seen, you have all been working hard and competing against some really strong programs.
The coaching staff is working to put together a "Future Freshmen" lacrosse camp this Fall/Winter.  We missed the chance this summer due to schedule and field conflicts.  I'll get the information out as soon as possible with dates once we get it finalized.
If you are not playing a Fall or Winter Sport for Sherwood High School, there are multiple opportunities to play lacrosse.  Rhino Lacrosse3d LacrosseLattitude 45 LacrosseLacrosse NW and Honoring the Game will all have a variety of options.
There are also a couple of pre-season/off-season work outs posted on our website that are really good to help make sure your ready for our season.  Click HERE to go to our Drills/Skills & Training page.
Let me know if you need any information and enjoy the rest of your summer.

The Oregon City Lacrosse Tournament in on Saturday July 19th. The week prior to the tournament we should have two brief practices to get familiarized with each other and have a quick refresher of our offense/defense/man-up/man-down, etc.

I know most of you are playing lacrosse already this summer, but try to make it to the practices.  We will go on Tuesday the 15th and Thursday the 17th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on the grass field in front of the High School.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all soon.  Let me know if you have any questions or need any further information.
